Cookie Privacy Policy

Learn about the cookies used on our website, what data they collect, and how to manage your cookie preferences.

This site does not use cookies. Nothing is stored on your device when you visit sportsmedicalcertificate.co.uk, and nothing is read back from it. That includes analytics, advertising and cross-site tracking cookies.

Why there is no cookie banner

Under regulation 6 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003, consent is required before storing information on your device or gaining access to information already stored there. Because this site does not store or read anything on your device, that requirement is not triggered and no consent banner is shown.

This is a deliberate choice rather than an oversight. Measuring visits without cookies means we collect less about you, and it means every visitor is treated the same way instead of the site behaving differently depending on what was clicked on a banner.

How visits are measured

The site uses Clicky, a web analytics service operated by Roxr Software Ltd, configured so that it sets no cookies and creates no identifier on your device. Clicky records the following when a page is opened:

  • the page visited and the time of the visit
  • the website or search engine you arrived from, where your browser sends it
  • an approximate location, derived from your IP address at country or city level
  • the type of browser, operating system and device

Because no identifier is stored, visits cannot be linked together. Repeat visits from the same person are counted as separate visits, and there is no profile of you built over time.

What is not collected

  • No advertising or cross-site tracking of any kind
  • No marketing profile, and no data sold or shared with advertisers
  • No health information. Nothing you enter into a consultation form is used for analytics

Applying for a certificate

Applications are completed on medicalcert.co.uk, which is a separate website operated by MedicalCert. That site sets its own cookies and publishes its own cookie and privacy notices. This policy covers sportsmedicalcertificate.co.uk only.

Blocking analytics anyway

You can stop the analytics script loading even though it sets no cookies. Enabling a do not track setting in your browser is honoured by Clicky, and any browser extension that blocks analytics scripts will also prevent it. Blocking it does not affect your ability to read the site or to apply for a certificate.

Checking this for yourself

You do not have to take our word for it. Open your browser's developer tools, look under storage or application, and you will see no cookies listed for this domain.

More information

How we handle personal data more generally is covered in our privacy policy. Guidance on cookies for the public is published by the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
